On
the auspicious occasion of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej 88th birthday
anniversary in 2015, the Royal Canadian Mint, a recognized world-class
manufacturer of high quality coins and commemorative medals for over 100
years, has produced H.M. King Bhumibol
Adulyadej 88th Birthday Celebration Medallions in recognition and
appreciation of H.M. the King's benevolence to the Thai people.
The
Late H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej or King Rama IX of Thailand passed
away on October 13, 2016 with the age of 89 years. He had done a lot
over the 70 years where he reigned through more than a thousand projects
for the well-being of Thai people.
The
silver medallion was made last year by the Royal Canadian Mint to
celebrate H.M. the King's 88th Birthday, just a year before he passed
away. It's a great collectible since H.M. King Bhumibol was one of the
greatest kings in the world history as can be witnessed by the news
showing Thai people flooding to the Grand Palace to present their grief
to the late King, along with many awards presented to H.M. King Bhumibol
by many international organizations.
